B.A. Early Childhood Education
As actively engaged participants, students in the BA in Early Childhood Education on-campus program learn about essential principles and theories of pedagogy and child development and engage in supervised learning experiences to integrate and apply their knowledge. Students will learn strategies for facilitating growth and development in cognitive development and motor skills, language and psychosocial learning, tailoring learning to the cultural needs of all children and appreciating what each child and family has to offer.

Cognitive Development: How Children Learn
This ECE course explores the relationship between psychological theory and practice in education. It provides an overview of the application of fundamental principles of psychology to the teaching and learning process of children. The course covers topics such as theories of cognitive development, motivation, and classroom instruction.
Child, Family, and Community Partnerships in Early Childhood Education
This Early Childhood Education course examines the requisite knowledge and skills successfully establishing, supporting, and maintaining respectful collaborative relationships between today’s diverse families, schools/centers, and community resources. Students will also be introduced to inclusive programs for children and schools that serve young children with and without special needs.
