I was born and raised in Romania under the austere conditions of the communist regime. Since I was a little child, I always heard my teachers whispering on the wonders of the "American Dream," and in the summer of 2000, I had the opportunity to come to the United States in my pursuit of happiness. Soon after my arrival, I joined the army and continue to serve this beautiful country that welcomed my family with open arms. I have been married for the last 20 years with my amazing wife Sorina, and together we have two beautiful and intelligent children, Alesandra (13 years old) and Darian (15 years old). While balancing the academic career with the professional obligations as an active-duty officer, I am mostly stationed overseas in Europe, where I safeguard the best interests of the United States.
