To celebrate Pacific Oaks College’s expansion into a new adjacent space – with eight new classrooms, an updated computer lounge, new offices for faculty and deans, and many meeting rooms – the college commissioned the creation of 10 posters highlighting Pacific Oaks dedication to the cause of social justice. The themes presented are inspired by contributions from the Pacific Oaks community of students, alumni, faculty, and staff. These images now hang in what has been dubbed the “Hall of Social Justice.”
Since its founding in 1945, the fabric of Pacific Oaks has included the tenets of equity and inclusion. Today, Pacific Oaks continues to encourage students and community members to enhance human well-being, and strive to promote economic and social justice for disadvantaged groups. The Pacific Oaks community is comprised of advocates who persist in engaging institutions and communities to create positive environments for all and seeks ways to respond to both current and long-standing cultural and political issues locally and globally.
As you view the images below, you are invited to contemplate the movements which have helped advance equity, inclusion, peace, and respect around the world.
